In each section there is a starting number of points. This has been derived to give a representation of the number of competitors.
Men 50

The first Pencoed Panther Runner in a championship race will score this number of points, the second runner one less, and so on.
The selected races chosen are local to club and aimed at encouraging participation, by members of the club.
There will also be a specified number of performances to count towards the championship score. This will also indicate the minimum number of races to be completed to win an award.
If there are 6 performances to count, the 6 highest scores for an athlete will be used to consider them for an award.
However, the athlete must have at least 5 completed runs for an award to be made.
If there are 5 highest scores to count you must complete 4 completed runs.
In the event of a tie for any award in any section, there will be no tie-break.
Both/all athletes will receive the same award.
In all races in any of the championships we expect you to be:
a. Properly entered in the race as a member of Pencoed Panthers.
b. Must Wear Club colours.
This championship consists of local races up to 5 miles.
They also tend to be mid-week races during the summer months.
There are 13 opportunities to score points, however members must complete 1 5-mile run, best mile, best parkrun and 2 of the specified 5k runs.
The championship will be based on your best 5 scores.

Each of the runs can count as a performance in the championship. All best performances will be ranked by time and scored appropriately.
The 'best 1 mile' includes any track mile, any mile time trial - on properly measured and timed courses.

Long Distance Road Championship
This consists of races from 10k upwards. The selected races may be Welsh Championships and may also be further afield.
There are 12 specified races. The championship is based on your 6 best scores to be considered for an award.
Your best 6 scores will be scored from either:

Each of these lists can count towards your best scores for this championship. All best performances will be ranked by time and scored appropriately.
These races must be measured/licensed road races to count.
As explained above, you must have at least one score from a marathon or half marathon road race.
A best 20-mile race will be treated as one of your other specified races.
